On the tiles

New flooring and other improvements are on the menu for the “big red flats” at Deer Park View, Stannington.

Thanks to savings in the Environmental budget from the Decent Homes initiative, carpet tiles will be replaced in the foyers of each block. Money has also been committed to improving garden areas around the towers and these funds were found from the Your Community Your Choice awarded during the last financial year (2009/10).

The standard of cleaning has also improved in the blocks and initiatives to remove litter continue. However, residents (or visitors) putting stickers on mirrors in the lifts is causing concern.
