Where might Penistone Road lead?

Penistone Road has long been an undervalued opportunity for Sheffield and its surrounding communities.

With this in mind, public consultations are getting underway over Penistone Road’s potential in terms of its significant investment, transport and leisure destination roles as well as how it might better service communities around it.

The consultation starts at Walkley Library on 15th February before moving on to Hillsborough Library then Upperthorpe Library.

How to get involved and give your views
The report is at a draft stage.  We have organised a series of events to invite your views on the proposals made by the Penistone Road Gateway Action Plan.  These are listed below.

Consultation Events

Monday 15 February – Friday, 26 February 2010

Exhibition Boards, feedback questionnaires and copies of the Penistone Road Gateway Action Plan will be on display at Walkley Library, South Road, Sheffield, S6 3TD.

A ‘drop in’ consultation session with the opportunity to discuss the proposals with officers has been arranged for Walkley Library Friday 19 February from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Monday 1 March – Friday 12 March 2010

Exhibition Boards, feedback questionnaires and copies of the Penistone Road Gateway Action Plan will be on display at Hillsborough Library, Middlewood Road, Sheffield S6

‘Drop in’ consultation sessions with the opportunity to discuss the proposals with officers have been arranged for:

  • Monday 1 March – 10am until 1pm and
  • Monday 8 March –  3pm until 7.30pm

On Thursday 25 March from 7.30pm until 9pm there will be a presentation on the Action Plan followed by a question and answer session.
