Sheffield Fire & Police Museum is a great place to spend a few hours on any quiet Sunday.
Set up by enthusiasts in the 1970s, when they acquired the Old Fire Station at West Bar, every room is full of displays, artifacts and vehicles from bygone days that boggle the mind. For adults, there’s plenty of nostalgia on tap. Kids can also discover the wonders of what the world looked like well before the digital age.
Open every Sunday, times are 11am to 5pm. Entry costs £4 for adults and £3 for children. There’s also a “family ticket” at £11.50 covering two adults taking two children. Engine rides cost £1.50 per person.
