Relying on credit cards

12 months of recession have left nearly two in every five (38%) adults reliant on credit for day-to-day living costs.

Post Office research finds 2.6 million people across the UK expect to spend more on their credit cards this January compared to January 2009. 3% even plan to take out another credit card or increase their credit limit in 2010.

Borrowers are increasingly using cards to pay for mortgage/rent, food, heating and other essentials.
