Weather disruption update for Sheffield

A brief update on disruption caused to schools and travel by the severe weather in and around Sheffield …

Temperatures were as low as -5°C last night and are not expected to climb much above -3°C today, despite sunshine predictions from the less-than-reliable Met Office. A deep freeze temperature of -8°C is expected overnight tonight.

Bright buses are reportedly sticking to main road routes, but special needs buses are off today.

Only a few schools in Sheffield are actually closed for the full day though most have later starting times than usual.

Woodhead Pass and Snake Pass are both still closed.
